This antibody detects endogenous levels of PNK1 only when phosphorylated at Ser114 or Thr118,and dually phosphorylated at two sites.The name of modified sites may be influenced by many factors, such as species (the modified site was not originally found in human samples) and the change of protein sequence (the previous protein sequence is incomplete, and the protein sequence may be prolonged with the development of protein sequencing technology). When naming, we will use the "numbers" in historical reference to keep the sites consistent with the reports. The antibody binds to the following modification sequence (lowercase letters are modification sites):PEsQP

This locus represents a gene involved in DNA repair. In response to ionizing radiation or oxidative damage, the protein encoded by this locus catalyzes 5' phosphorylation and 3' dephosphorylation of nucleic acids. Mutations at this locus have been associated with microcephaly, seizures, and developmental delay.[provided by RefSeq, Sep 2010],

Catalytic activity:A 3'-phosphopolynucleotide + H(2)O = a polynucleotide + phosphate.,Catalytic activity:ATP + 5'-dephospho-DNA = ADP + 5'-phospho-DNA.,Function:Catalyzes the phosphorylation of DNA at 5'-hydroxyl termini and can dephosphorylate its 3'-phosphate termini. Plays an important function in DNA repair following ionizing radiation or oxidative damage.,PTM:Phosphorylated upon DNA damage, probably by ATM or ATR.,similarity:In the N-terminal section; belongs to the DNA 3' phosphatase family.,tissue specificity:Expressed in many tissues with highest expression in spleen and testis, and lowest expression in small intestine (PubMed:10446192).
